Rachel Bibby Counselling in Banbury
A little bit about me and how I work.

A little bit about me.
Before I trained to become a counsellor, I worked in the hair and beauty industry. An environment where being personable and nurturing came naturally. But beneath that, I often felt a deep need to be liked. I would put others first, smoothing things over and tending to everyone else’s needs, without really noticing how disconnected I’d become from my own.
It wasn’t until I experienced therapy myself that I began to understand those patterns. The need to please, the discomfort in saying no, the quiet loss of self behind the service of others. Through that process, I discovered that I could care deeply without abandoning myself. That I could hold space for others while also honouring my own needs.
That realisation has become the foundation of my work.
How I work
I offer a calm and confidential space where you can begin to make sense of your experiences and explore how they’re shaping your feelings. Our relationship is built on trust, empathy, and warmth and it’s the heart of the healing process.
My approach is gentle, collaborative, and creative. I’ll listen with care, reflect back what I notice, and offer insights that support deeper understanding. And when words feel hard to find, we might draw, write, use objects or visualisation to help emotions take shape in other ways.
Creativity allows us to bypass logic and connect with what’s felt but not always spoken.
There’s no “right” way to explore this only your way.
